POWER ON, 2010, resin, photographic paper, silk cord
A series of optical illusions positing my own body within positions of danger and power. These wearable thaumatropes reference my video practice by implying movement and time but are also a portable offering of ego. By reducing my own image to a novelty piece I am questioning the position of power I put my own image in within these objcts wich include walking on water and producing lightning and explosions from my hands. Powering on through marginalisation by turning the power on.
