Wolfgang, Max & Shlomo

Wolfgang, Max & Shlomo is a collaboration between graphic designers Shona Stark, Kirsty Moegerlein and Lily Tidhar. The studio launched in late 2009 with the release of COOKBOOK, a limited edition, letterpress publication. Currently working on a follow-up publication, the studio is focused on producing work with a social conscience, and exploring typographic and printing techniques.

A Lone(ly) Sock, 2010, single sock, paper, felt, thread, needle

Wolfgang, Max & Shlomo bring you A Lone(ly) Sock – a resourceful fellow who lost his partner some time ago. A Lone(ly) is a single sock, to be paired with an odd sock of your own. In the face of material excess this sock reminds us to act resourcefully and creatively. It is a call to reconsider, to look with fresh eyes upon that which we too easily dismiss as being useless.

Insert Coin Here

is a group exhibition curated by Nella Themelios & Kim Brockett. The exhibition is part of the 2010 L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival cultural program.

Insert Coin Here
comprises of two vending machines strategically placed in public spaces around the Melbourne CBD. Containing limited edition 'fashion objects' produced by over 60 Melbourne-based artists, the vending machines are activated when a member of the public inserts a $2 coin. The exhibition explores alternative interfaces of exchange for fashion, the mechanised system as a form of 'fashion dialogue'. More broadly, it thinks through discourses around public space and the role that fashion might play in it.
